Premiere of a new dating series
Fox Nation will launch its first original dating programme, “The Vow”, on 11 November. The series will run for eight weeks, with one episode released each week until the finale on 9 December. The show is hosted by Chris Harrison, who left the ABC franchise in 2021 after a controversial exit.
The central figure of the series is 30‑year‑old Jace Cates, who will be the sole bachelor among ten women competing for his affection. The trailer, released by Fox Nation and reported by Variety and Deadline, shows Cates engaging in curated dates and real‑world compatibility challenges while also praying, a departure from typical dating‑show formats.
Background
Chris Harrison has been the face of “The Bachelor” and its spin‑offs since the show began in 2002. He departed the franchise in 2021 following comments he made in defence of former contestant Rachael Kirkconnell, which were widely criticised as racially insensitive. In a statement, Harrison said he was excited to return to the dating world and that Fox Nation had helped him create a show that he believes is the most authentic dating programme on television.
The central concept of “The Vow” focuses on determining if common principles, religious beliefs, effective dialogue, and future objectives are sufficient to sustain a partnership once filming concludes. The series will feature appearances from Sean and Catherine Lowe, a couple who met on Season 17 of “The Bachelor” in 2013 and are now married.
Why it matters
The show is positioned as a response to the contemporary dating culture, which many describe as dominated by fleeting connections and social media attention. By focusing on commitment and building a life together, “The Vow” aims to offer a different narrative. The inclusion of faith and prayer in the trailer suggests a particular emphasis on spiritual compatibility.
The series has already attracted legal attention. Warner Bros. It has been alleged that “The Vow” violates the intellectual property rights and branding associated with “The Bachelor”. Harrison has responded to the claim, stating that he does not see the studio targeting the broader genre of relationship shows.
What happens next
Lionsgate Alternative Television is set to manufacture the program, with Harrison acting as an executive producer in conjunction with Lauren Zima, Nicholas Caprio, Tom Huffman, and Louis Caric, the latter holding the position of showrunner. Elan Gale holds the title of consulting producer. Fox Entertainment Global is tasked with delivering the series to global markets, offering it both as completed video content and as a production format.
The first episode will air on 11 November, with subsequent episodes scheduled weekly until the finale on 9 December. Viewers can follow the progression of the bachelor’s journey and the contestants’ quests for lasting love through Fox Nation’s streaming platform.
