Femi Adebayo, the Nigerian actor and filmmaker, announced the full cast for the sequel to his 2023 epic Jagun Jagun: The Warrior. The new film, titled Jagun Jagun 2, will stream on Netflix on 4 December. The announcement came in a video posted across Adebayo’s social media channels on Friday, drawing immediate attention from fans.
The lineup features several high‑profile newcomers. Nollywood star Funke Akindele joins the cast, along with comedian Cute Abiola and actress Muka Ray. The film also brings in Fuji music legends Wasiu Ayinde KWAM 1 and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma. The inclusion of Fuji music royalty KWAM 1 and Pasuma is notable, as they are primarily known for their musical careers rather than acting. The late actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo is also listed among the new additions.
Many actors from the original film return to reprise their roles. The ensemble includes Lateef Adedimeji, Bimbo Ademoye, Bukunmi Oluwashina, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Yekini, Fathia Balogun, Adebayo Salami, Muyiwa Ademola, Yinka Quadri and Dele Odule. Their return is expected to provide continuity for fans of the first instalment, which was praised for its ensemble performances.
Adebayo explained that casting the sequel required translating fictional characters into convincing, breathing human beings on screen. He highlighted that the process involved careful consideration of each character’s arc to ensure authenticity. He said the challenge was to maintain the spirit of the original while allowing the actors to bring fresh depth to their roles.
The cast reveal video generated buzz on social media, with many followers praising the mix of established talent and fresh faces. Followers on platforms such as Instagram and Twitter shared screenshots of the clip, praising the director’s vision. Adebayo’s use of a short, dynamic clip helped the news spread quickly across platforms.
With a star‑studded cast and a confirmed Netflix release date, Jagun Jagun 2 is poised to attract a wide audience. The film’s blend of action, drama and music is expected to appeal to both domestic and international viewers, potentially boosting Netflix’s Nigerian content library.
